Life skills trainers assist newly-arrived refugees to learn basic life skills through practical activities designed to foster independence in specific skill areas.
Services include assisting clients in:
learning safety measures,
understanding how to take care of accommodation, including how to use appliances,
learning about life in Canada,
practising how to get around, including the use of public transportation,
learning about services available in their neighbourhoods,
using the banking system,
learning “smart” shopping.
